The Wilson County Road Commission maintains roads which are listed on the Wilson County road list. State roads, city streets and other roads which are not listed in the County Commission approved road list, can't be worked by Road Commission. There is 856.82 miles or 1712.68 lane miles on approved road list. The Road Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent are responsible for day to day operations. Road Board meets once each month first Friday 9:00 a.m. at road office to discuss concerns of their constituents and to approve fiscal year spending. The department receives funding from the state fuel tax, severance tax, and portion of property tax. Our office hours are Monday-Thursday 7am-4pm. The county does not have a chipper service.
